No Magic has
just released a new version of MagicDraw that enhances integrations with the
most popular open-source MDA tools AndroMDA and openArchitectureWare. Additionaly,
the new version of MagicDraw Teamwork Server now integrates with IBM® Rational®
ClearCase® and Subversion version control system repositories.
Plano, TX, June 4, 2007. No Magic, Inc.®, a leading
vendor of architecture modeling software, today announced the release of
MagicDraw® 12.5. This version of No
Magic’s award-winning business analysis, and architecture modeling tool
enhances integrations with the most popular open-source MDA tools AndroMDA and
openArchitectureWare. Also, MagicDraw 12.5 Teamwork Server now integrates with
IBM® Rational® ClearCase® and Subversion, the top rated version control system
repositories. Additionally, it delivers code and model analysis enhancements,
updated EMF UML2, and UML Action Semantics support. MagicDraw 12.5 contains
major improvements in quality, general usability, and performance improvements,
and contains significant bug fixes. In addition, MagicDraw 12.5 comes with
enhancements to the SysML, DoDAF and MagicRq plugins.
“We have received a lot of requests from open-source
Model Driven Architecture (MDA) tools users for more seamless integrations with
AndroMDA and openArchitectureWare. And we are committed to make MagicDraw the
MDA developer’s modeling dream choice by providing a more convenient way to work
in MagicDraw’s modeling environment, thus eliminating the time of
transformation from UML model to working code. MagicDraw is a leader in
supporting MDA tools within the modeling environment, and we are listening to
the growing MDA community around the world,” said Gary Duncanson, President of
No Magic.
Additionally, the new version of MagicDraw Teamwork
Server integrates with the most popular version control system repositories
IBM® Rational® ClearCase® and Subversion. The integrations allow maintenance of
all the development artifacts in one repository, thus minimizing administration
costs. Thus, no additional maintenance burdens are necessary – such as backing
up the data, constantly monitoring growing disk space, necessary for storing
project versions.
MagicDraw 12.5 delivers improved code and model
analysis. It provides a convenient means to see the logical dependencies
between classes and packages in form of UML dependencies. This is especially
helpful after doing reverse engineering.
Updated import/export into the latest EMF UML2 2.x allows interchange of
UML 2 models with other UML modeling or MDA tools supporting EMF UML2 2.x.
Added support of UML Action Semantics gives additional flexibility for
MagicDraw users to create their architectures in a fast and convenient way.
MagicDraw 12.5 includes general usability and
performance improvements, and contains significant bug fixes. Along with bug fixes in the main
application, similar usability and performance improvements were made in the
SysML, DoDAF and MagicRq plugins.
MagicDraw 12.5 was a ‘User Response’ release, taking
almost 70% of their implementation requests.
MagicDaw current users, and potential new users, should be delighted
with the results of this release seeing that their feedback can make a
difference!
