Meet us at Code Generation 2010

Darius Silingas, No Magic's principal trainer and consultant will present a case study 'Why MDA Fails: Analysis of an Unsuccessful Project' at the Code Generation 2010 Conference to be held in Cambridge, UK.

Mr. Silingas' presentation and case study will review an unsuccessful trial to adopt the Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) approach in a large scale, ongoing software development project. He will present the project issues, and revisit these, discussing what went wrong and how pitfalls could have been avoided.
The presention will take place Thursday, June 17th, 16:30 - 17:30.

Code Generation 2010 will be held at Murray Edwards College (formerly New Hall), Cambridge, UK on June 16-18. The Code Generation conference is Europe's leading event on Domain-Specific Languages, Model-Driven Software Development and Code Generation.

New in UPDM 16.8 SP1 - Spreadsheet reports in Excel 2007 format

Now UPDM users can generate all spreadsheet reports in both Excel and Open Document formats. New functionality allows to choose which format to use by generating reports from report wizard, table diagrams or quick generate report action.

Other improvements, especially for AV-1 and All View reports and bug fixes in UPDM 16.8 SP1 is provided in the New and Noteworthy section.

No Magic Expands and Strengthens its Cameo Suite with Major New Product Releases

Plano, TX, April 26, 2010 - No Magic, Inc., the leading global provider of integrated modeling software and services, today announced the general availability release of MagicDraw® 16.8, as well as version 16.8 releases for Cameo Business Modeler, Cameo Data Modeler, SysML plug-in, UPDM plug-in, and Cameo MDA 16.8. The company also announced the release of the Cameo Simulation Toolkit (Alpha release).

MagicDraw® version 16.8 adds full support for Unified Modeling Language (UML®) version 2.3, as approved by the Object Management Group (OMG). Additionally, the new version introduces a traceability feature, Relation Map diagram, FlexNet license server from Flexera, as well as improvements in the areas of usability, model merge, Domain-Specific Language (DSL), report wizard and Teamwork Server.

New in ParaMagic 16.6 SP1 - Solving Parametrics with OpenModelica

Now users can run their models with a free open source calculation engine, OpenModelica, as an alternative to Mathematica. Available from the ParaMagic™ download site, OpenModelica for Windows or Mac OS provides the same capabilities for equation solving, trade studies, requirements checking and Excel import/export as Mathematica. Integrating MATLAB/Simulink models will still require the use of Mathematica as the core solver.

Other improved features in 16.6 SP1 include faster execution and faster import/export from Excel, better support for recursive structures and strings, and more formatting control for results display.
