No Magic's New "Cameo Team Server" Boosts Productivity and Enhances Collaboration for Requirements Management Projects

Single, Server Based Repository Enables Distributed Teams to Access and Update Requirements Management Artifacts from any Location

Plano, TX, November 2, 2009. No Magic, Inc. today announced the release of Cameo Team Server, an innovative new product that changes the nature of collaboration and requirements. This new addition to the Cameo Suite acts as a centralized, server-based repository for requirements, business and design data, testing and enterprise architecture.  Cameo Team Server enables distributed software developers to retrieve requirements management artifacts (including schemas, repositories and models), update them in a controlled fashion, and merge them back into evolving software development projects. Because this is accomplished in a controlled fashion, it minimizes conflicts and eliminates the ripple effects that typically occur in large, distributed software development projects.

Storing all requirements management artifacts in a single repository enhances collaboration, by enabling distributed teams to work together to identify project requirements.  It improves productivity, by providing all team members with unified access to requirements, stories, testing, storyboards, and other requirements artifacts.  And it increases the overall quality of software development efforts by providing a streamlined process that enables users to check out, modify, and check in their portion of an evolving software project.

Auto locking is a key innovation of the server, allowing users to simply modify data without predicting what changes need to be made. This brings Optimistic Locking to the development process.

Cameo Team Server comes pre-packaged with a built in SQL database. "Cameo Team Server is the first commercial Eclipse (EMF/eCore) repository with auto-locking," commented Daniel Brookshier, No Magic's Chief Architect. “Cameo Team Server is slated to become a cornerstone repository for all our tools and partner products in the future," added Brookshier.

Other key benefits of Cameo Team Server include:

"The combination of Cameo Team Server and Cameo Requirements+ helps organizations collaborate more effectively, by leveraging the skills of their entire team, regardless of their physical location," said Gary Duncanson, CEO of No Magic.  "Cameo Team Server also provides the control, versioning, and administrative capabilities that teams need to enhance productivity, preserve corporate memory and improve the overall quality of their software development efforts."
